This website processes personal data only to the extent technically necessary and for the purposes described in this statement. Using this website is generally possible without disclosing personal data; the contact form is the only exception.
Data transmission over the internet (e.g. via email) can have security gaps. Complete protection from third-party access is not possible.
This website is hosted on Vercel. Pages are served through Vercel's global delivery network; requests from Germany are usually answered from a location in the EU. Form submissions are processed server-side in the Frankfurt region (EU). When visiting the site, technical information is automatically transferred to Vercel, including IP address, date and time of access, referrer URL, user-agent string and requested resources. These data are stored briefly for service delivery and security purposes, typically a few minutes up to 30 days.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) f GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and performant website).
Since Vercel Inc. is based in the USA, data may be transferred to a third country. The EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (Art. 46 GDPR) are in place, and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework applies in addition. For details see vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
For a consistent appearance, I use locally hosted fonts (Instrument Serif, Manrope, JetBrains Mono, each under the SIL Open Font License). Font files are served from the same server as this website. No data is transmitted to third parties (e.g. Google Fonts).
If you send inquiries via the contact form, your information (first and last name, email, phone number if provided, project type and message) will be stored to process the request and for follow-up questions.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) b GDPR (performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6 (1) a GDPR (consent via the checkbox).
Processor: Email delivery is handled by Resend. I use the service's EU region; transfers are based on Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Resend. Details: resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
Incoming emails: If you write directly to hello@webgentic.de or reply to one of my emails, receipt and further processing take place via Google Workspace by Google. Your message, communication data and any attachments are processed for that purpose. Legal bases are Art. 6 (1) b GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual communication and Art. 6 (1) f GDPR for the efficient handling of general inquiries. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Google (Google Workspace Data Processing Addendum). Where Google processes data in the USA, this is based on Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Logging: To prevent abuse and spam, your IP address is processed when you submit the contact form. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) f GDPR (legitimate interest in the security and functionality of the form).
Retention: Inquiries from the contact form and email communication are deleted 6 months after resolution unless a contract results. If a contract is entered into, statutory retention periods apply, typically up to 10 years per §§ 147 AO, 257 HGB.
Withdrawal: You may withdraw consent at any time by informal email to hello@webgentic.de. The lawfulness of processing up to the point of withdrawal remains unaffected.
The configurator lets you send a non-binding price-estimate request. When you submit it, I process the details you enter: name, company, email address, optionally a phone number, preferred start and an optional free-text field – together with the configuration you select (project type, scope, modules, maintenance) and the resulting price range.
Consent: Submission requires actively ticking a consent checkbox. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent).
Confirmation email: After submitting you automatically receive a confirmation of your request at the address provided. This email is purely transactional and contains no advertising. Delivery is handled by Resend, as described in Section 5.
Logging: To prevent abuse and spam, your IP address is processed during submission. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in the security and functioning of the form).
Retention: The same periods apply as for the contact form (Section 5): deletion 6 months after the request is answered, unless a contract results.
Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time informally by email to hello@webgentic.de. The lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal remains unaffected.
On the Free Website Check page you can request a manual first-pass review of your website. For this I process the data you provide: website URL and email address, plus the status of the separate marketing consent if you choose to grant it.
Legal bases: Processing needed to deliver the requested website check is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measure) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in structured handling of the request). The optional marketing consent is voluntary and based solely on Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. Requesting the check is not conditional on marketing consent.
Double opt-in: After submission you receive an advertising-free confirmation email at the address provided. The request is processed internally only after you click the link in that email. I record the confirmation timestamp and policy version used to document consent under Art. 7 GDPR.
Delivery / processor: The confirmation email is sent via Resend as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR, as already described in Section 5.
Logging: To prevent abuse and ensure service reliability, IP address, technical headers, and timestamps are processed when the form is submitted and confirmed. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Manual review: The submitted website URL is not automatically fetched server-side and no automated profiling is performed. The review begins only as a manual step after successful confirmation.
Retention: Data from the website check are generally deleted 6 months after the request has been completed unless a contract results.
Withdrawal: You may withdraw any consent, especially the optional marketing consent, at any time by email to hello@webgentic.de. The lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal remains unaffected.
This website uses no tracking or marketing cookies. The following entries are set exclusively for functional reasons:
Legal basis: § 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary for the service requested by the user). No consent is required.

No third-party embeds (e.g. YouTube, Google Maps, social-media widgets) are loaded on this site. Project screenshots in the "Featured Projects" section come from our own production; the illustrations in the services section are our own SVG graphics. All images are served directly from the same server as this website.
There is no automated decision-making, including profiling, under Art. 22 GDPR.
