Accessibility Statement

Pursuant to the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG) · Updated June 2026

1. Scope

This statement applies to the website webgentic.de, including the English mirror under /en/ and all subpages (services, price configurator, contact, legal notices).

This website is governed by the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) and the related ordinance (BFSGV). The statutory requirements have applied since 28 June 2025. The technical basis is the harmonised European standard EN 301 549, which references the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, conformance level AA.

2. Conformance Status

This website targets WCAG 2.1 level AA. Based on my current self-assessment, it is largely compliant with those requirements. Known limitations and outstanding checks are listed in section 3.

The site was designed from the ground up against the WCAG criteria: semantic HTML, visible focus states, sufficient colour contrast in both light and dark modes, keyboard-operable navigation and forms, reduced motion when prefers-reduced-motion is active, responsive font sizing via rem / clamp(), and ARIA attributes where native semantics fall short.

3. Non-accessible Content

The following areas are known to me and are being worked on:

  • Decorative animations (GSAP / Lenis): scroll-driven sequences are reduced or replaced with static presentations when prefers-reduced-motion is set. No functional content depends on animation. Automatically moving content (such as the ticker strip on the services page) can be paused and resumed via a button (WCAG 2.2.2) and stays still under prefers-reduced-motion.
  • No formal third-party audit: a formal report from an external accredited testing body is not yet available. The statement is based on self-assessment (see section 4).
  • Screen-reader matrix outstanding: a full test across multiple screen-reader and browser combinations is planned for a later external review.

4. Assessment Method

This conformance statement is based on a self-assessment by the provider:

  • Static HTML checks for missing page titles, meta descriptions, h1 structure, missing image alternatives, empty buttons and duplicate IDs.
  • Manual browser checks of key pages on desktop, tablet, mobile and mobile landscape.
  • Checks for console errors, failed requests and missing internal assets.
  • Testing with prefers-reduced-motion enabled and correction of known reduced-motion display issues.
  • Manual visual checks of contrast, focus proximity, navigation, forms and responsive layout.

No formal assessment by the Federal Monitoring Body for Accessibility of Information Technology (BFIT-Bund), no complete screen-reader matrix and no external audit have taken place. These checks are recommended for a later revision.

5. Preparation and Updates

This statement was prepared in April 2026 and last updated on 3 June 2026. It will be reviewed on every substantial change to the site and at least once per year.

8. Market Surveillance

Compliance with the BFSG requirements for services provided by private economic operators is supervised by the market surveillance authorities of the German federal states. Further expert guidance is available from the Federal Office for Accessibility at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
